Meet Denise Myers, CD

Denise Myers, CDCA II, is a chemical dependency counselor assistant II providing case management and recovery support services for individuals affected by substance use and behavioral health challenges at PATH Therapy Services in Youngstown, Ohio.

Denise’s professional background includes experience in community-based treatment settings, Prince George’s County in Maryland, and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction  She has served as both a case manager and group facilitator at The RedZone, experiences that have shaped her belief that every person deserves dignity, support, and a clear path toward recovery  This work has given her a deep understanding of the complex barriers individuals face.

Denise utilizes evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) to help clients recognize harmful thinking patterns, build healthier and coping strategies, and strengthen internal motivation for change. She has supported clients through all stages of recovery, including intake assessments, treatment planning, relapse prevention, crisis intervention, and connection to essential resources such as housing, employment, education, and mental health services. Her approach focuses on empowering individuals to identify strengths, challenge negative beliefs, and develop practical strategies for long-term stability.

Denise holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice from Youngstown State University, providing a strong foundation for understanding the needs of individuals impacted by addiction. Through advocacy, community outreach, and collaboration with local organizations, she works to strengthen support systems and promote lasting recovery and independence. She is committed to delivering compassionate, client-centered care and believes that access to resources, support, and education are essential to helping individuals rebuild healthy, productive lives. Denise is also a commissioned Ohio Notary Public, offering additional support to clients and the community.
